State offices with countywide interest include the State Senate District 2 seat held 28 years by Democrat Stratton Taylor. Taylor is not running due to term limits.

Democratic candidate Sean Burrage, 38, of Claremore, drew no opponents for the party nomination.

Four Republican candidates will be listed on the primary ballot in hopes of having their name placed on the November ballot: Bob Brown, Damon Harris, Ami Shaffer and Dale Jackson.

The District 6 seat being vacated by term-limited State Rep. Joe Eddins drew three Democrat and two Republican candidates: Kenny Weast, Chuck Hoskin and Henry Flanders will be on the Democrat primary ballot; Wayland Smalley and Pat Lair will be on Republican primary ballot.

Incumbent Ben Sherrer will return for a second term in District 8 representing southern Rogers County and Mayes County in the State House.

Incumbent District 9 State Representative Tad M. Jones had no opponents file and will return for another year in the State House.

Congressman Dan Boren will face one of two Republican candidates on the November ballot. He had no Democrat opponents. Patrick Miller and Raymond Wickson filed for the Republican nomination and will be on the July primary ballot.
