New fee structure for Recreation Center users

Effective Aug. 1.

In addition to changes in the membership fee structure, use of the track and gym will no longer be free to members of the community, with the exception of senior citizens. All others will be charged a daily rate of $1 for youth ($15 a month) or $2 for adults ($20 a month).

A scholarship program to fund access fees for some youth is under consideration but not yet available. Inquire at the Recreation Center.

Monthly membership rates for unlimited use of swimming pool, weight/fitness equipment, gym and track have increased to $15 for senior citizens (60 and above), $25 for senior couple, $30 for adult, and $40 for a family of two. Each additional family member will be $10 per month.

Fees for aerobics classes are $15 per month for seniors or $4 a day; $30 per month for adults or $4 a day; and $20 for youth (18 and younger) or $3 a day.

A membership and aerobics combo package will be $43 per month.

Personal trainers will be available for $15 per hour, with new members receiving two free sessions.

Court fees for racquetball will be $4 an hour or $15 a month unlimited. Court fees for tennis will be $7 an hour.

Those just using the swimming pool will be charged $2 for children through age 17 or $3 for ages 18 and above.

Daily passes for full access to pool, weight/fitness equipment, gym and track, will be offered at the rate of $5 for adults and $4 for youth, or $3 for weight room only. Child care is $1.50 per child per hour.

Access to the facility will be controlled by two turnstiles with a handicap access gate. Cost of the turnstiles is estimated at $10,000-$12,000.

Identification bands have been purchased to allow staff members to identify which specific areas of the facility daily users are allowed to access. Each location of the facility will be noted with the following colors: blue — swimming pool; red — weight room; orange — gymnasium; green — racquetball, tennis, batting cages; and yellow — spectator (for swim lesson parents).

Members will be required to carry their access cards at all times for identification.
