Residents of Rogers County will soon benefit from improved road access to Oologah Lake. That’s according to State Sen. Stratton Taylor who announced the County has been awarded a grant from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in the amount of $112,000.

Sen. Taylor, D-Claremore, said funds awarded to Rogers County would be used to improve access to the boat ramps and public use facilities at Oologah Lake.

The project was requested by Rogers County Commissioners earlier this year.

Funding for the grant is provided by the federal government and distributed by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

“This grant will enable Rogers County to meet the cost of an important upgrade to Spencer Creek Road,” Taylor said. “The project will result in a significant improvement in safety and will allow more people to enjoy Oologah Lake.”
