A Tulsa man drowned in Oologah Lake Saturday while swimming.

Juan Manuel Becerra, 19, died at around 2:20 p.m. Sunday.

According to a report from the Oklahoma Lake Patrol, Becerra had been swimming in the Hawthron Swim Beach on Oologah Lake in Rogers County when he went into the water to swim. Those who were watching Becerra thought he was playing, but he eventually went under the water and did not resurface.

Becerra’s body was recovered at 4:30 p.m. by the Oklahoma Lake Patrol, assisted by the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office, Northwest Fire Protection District, Pafford EMS and the Oologah Corps of Engineers.

Three people, including a 5-year-old girl, drowned Saturday in separate accidents, including one in the same area where Becerra drowned Sunday.

The information concerning the second drowning at Oologah Lake will be released when family members are notified, according to the Oklahoma Lake Patrol.
