Foyil firefighters, assisted by Tri-District Volunteer Fire Department, battled over four hours to bring a raging house fire under control Friday.

Foyil Fire Chief Randy Atchley said homeowners, the Thomas Adamovich family, were away when the fire started somewhere in the attic of the home.

Another area resident passing by saw the smoke and reported the fire around 11:47 a.m.

By the time firefighters arrived on the scene of the fire at 17115 S. 4190 Road “flames were coming out of both ends of the eaves,” Atchley said.

Presumably the fire was electrical. The home is a total loss. The American Red Cross was called to provide assistance as needed.
