The city’s lone zoning item — the Piguet property in south Claremore — was continued Thursday night until the next meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission, June 15.

However, on the county side, two zoning items and three preliminary plats including the first two developments inside the more than 3,000-acre PUD (planned unit development) near Catoosa were approved.

The City-County Planning Commission reviews all zoning and building applications throughout the zoning district which includes the city and a portion of the county. Recommendations are forwarded to the City Council and to the County Commissioners for final action.

Public meetings are the first and third Thursday of every month in City Hall’s Council Chambers, 104 S. Muskogee.

County Planning Director Chuck Taber told commissioners, “Development is still going strong [on the county side]. From what I can see it will continue far into the future.”
