Musical artist Josh Morningstar will be in Claremore this Friday, performing in concert at a venue unlikely to appear on most concert circuit listings.
“Unlike a lot of performances, I’ll be performing in concert at what’s known as a ‘house concert’ so it’s essentially going to be held in someone’s house, but it’s not a private event — it will be open to the public,” Morningstar said.
Morningstar will be performing live beginning at 8 p.m. tonight at 15741 South 4150 Road in Claremore, bringing his unique sound to an audience in a more unique setting.
“If people come to the show, they can expect to hear my life story, both through song and in stories I perform between the songs,” he said. “I’m a recovering (heroin) addict — good Lord willing — I’ll have six years clean in October.
“I speak about this during my show, as my music is really just my life in song form,” he continued. “Aside from that, I perform mainly original compositions, but throw in some classic country ‚ songs by guys like Hank Williams Sr., Waylon Jennings and others.”
A resident of Maryland, Morningstar will be appearing in Claremore “on his way down to Texas,” as he is on the road every week, with upcoming appearances schedule in Miami, Okla., Roscoe, Texas, and Bowling Green, Ky.
“If people are looking for an enjoyable night out that will make them laugh, cry, think, and feel, then they should be at the show,” he said. “I look forward to meeting everyone.”
