Investigators with the Owasso Police Department are following up on a Halloween night stabbing, believed to have been the result of a domestic dispute.

According to police reports, shortly before midnight on Oct. 31, Owasso Police responded to a report of a stabbing at Quality Inn & Suites in Owasso.

The victim called 911 at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, reporting that he had been stabbed by a female acquaintance, who fled the scene following the assault, the report indicated.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with victim — a male in his 40s — who was suffering from a single stab wound to the chest, and was subsequently transported by Owasso medics to a hospital in Tulsa.

Although the victim’s wounds were reported as “very serious,” he was conscious when he was found, and is expected to survive, the report indicated.

Tulsa Police Department officers later located the suspect — a female, also in her 40s — who was taken into custody at the request of the Owasso Police Department.

“This investigation is still in the early stages,” said Jason B. Woodruff, deputy chief, Owasso Police Department. “Our detectives have been processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses.”

Early indications suggest that the incident stemmed from a domestic altercation which escalated to the victim being stabbed, Woodruff said.

Currently, all parties involved are accounted for.
