She Brews Coffee House is well known for it’s mission: rehabilitating women in need.

However, like any new business, keeping the lights on and the workers fed can be a struggle. She Brews Manager Sophia Carvajal explained some of the changes She Brews is making in order to stay afloat.

The first is that they shrunk the in-store menu, taking poor sellers like the tuna pita, broccoli cheese soup and tabouli off the menu.

They changed the hours at both stores, only opening the She Brews South location on Country Club Road from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and adding hours to the downtown location so that it is open for downtown shoppers from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We’re focusing on catering now,” Carvajal said. “Hopefully that helps.”

Catering options include the “Bag-a-Breakfast,” lunch boxes with three of their most popular sandwiches and casseroles. Delivery and set-up is available throughout the Caremore area.

They are also offering facility rental for either their South or Downtown locations with two staff members to serve food and beverages after hours.

“We’re trying to make some changes to what works,” Carvajal said. “We love this community and we try hard!”
