At the end of the month, Dwayne Steidley will have completed 31-years of public service as a legislator and district judge. His current term as district judge for the 12th judicial district will end in January of 2019.
He has announced today that he will not seek re-election.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to have served the people of Rogers, Mayes and Craig Counties. I have been blessed beyond words to have the opportunities that God allowed me to have as both a legislator and now a judge,” Steidley said.
In announcing that he will not seek re-election, Steidley indicated he was making the announcement now as the filing period is in April and he wanted to give those who will seek the position he now holds an opportunity to make timely announcements before the filing period.
