What started as a traffic stop in Claremore for failure to use a turn signal, resulted in the arrest of three men on possible felony drug trafficking charges.
Claremore Police Department reports arresting Jimmie Grant, 20, Claremore, Terry Compton, 23, Claremore, and Evan Sligar, 22, Oologah on Monday.
Records show Grant was driving the vehicle in question while Sligar and Compton were passengers in the back seat.
In his report officer Ricky Propst states that in approaching the vehicle he immediately noticed the “odor of burnt and raw marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.”
The officer also noted a red, white and blue bong visible in the front passenger-side floorboard.
A search of the vehicle yielded: “three separately-packaged clear plastic bags containing methamphetamine, multiple small, clear plastic baggies, digital scales, one notebook with names and owed amounts written inside, a .38 Special Ruger revolver loaded, one bag of .38 Special ammunition, a marijuana grinder containing marijuana, rolling papers, a smoking pipe, a straw with white residue, two hand-rolled marijuana cigarettes, three cell phones and one tablet suspected of being used for drug trafficking/sales.”
Propst reported that the three bags of methamphetamine totaled 65 grams.
The three were arrested on charges of trafficking a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm while committing a felony and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
