Jason Edison Raiford was born June 5, 1972, in Claremore, to Steven Edison and Mary Leonis (Scott) Raiford. He died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, in Tulsa, at the age of 41 years. Jason was reared and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the Nathan Hale High School Class of 1991, where he excelled in baseball. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Business.  
He was married Oct. 13, 2001, in Claremore, to Melvonna Waddle. Jason was currently working with Wells Fargo in Tulsa as a mortgage officer. He volunteered for a pet rescue where he rescued over 200 dogs, and he ran 5K’s for animal aide. 
In middle school, he played football until he became injured and he played baseball in high school as a pitcher. Jason enjoyed fishing, boating, big foot hunting and riding 4x4 on his mule. He was a member of KCB barbeque team and had won first place in a meat-smoking contest. Jason was faithful to the Lord.
Loving family members include: his wife Melvonna; parents Steve and Mary Raiford of Claremore; grandmother Dorothy Jean Raiford of Tulsa; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeremy Edison Raiford.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Hilldale Baptist Church in Claremore with Pastor Earl Skaggs officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Chris Dickerson, Steven Dickerson, Carl Billingsley, Jim Oliver, Colin Magruder, and Brent Bridges. Committal services and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa.  Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
