Wanda M. Richardt

CLAREMORE — Wanda M. Richardt, age 95, of Huntingburg, Ind. passed away at 6:45 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Ind.

She was born in Cherokee, Iowa on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 1917, to Raymond and Hettie (Ranson) Goodson. She was united in marriage to John J. Richardt on September 16, 1936. Wanda worked as a nanny and housekeeper in Chicago for various families. After her marriage, in addition to her work as a homemaker, she worked at General Electric in Tell City and then later at DMI in Huntingburg and Jasper Desk. .

Since 1969, Wanda has been a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. Her interests included: knitting, crocheting and embroidering; reading; gardening; and baking — her specialties were Hartshorne cookies at Christmas and cream pies with meringue. She was preceded in death by:  her husband, John J. Richardt, who died June 28, 1980; three sisters & two brother-in-laws – Edith (Elmer) Myer, Opal (Joe) Reber, and Hilda Goodson; and one brother & one sister-in-law, Charles (Carol) Goodson.

She is survived by three sons, Rev. J. Lawrence Richardt of Huntingburg, Ind., Joe (spouse, Bonnie) Richardt of Huntingburg, Ind., and Steve (spouse, Sharon) Richardt of Claremore, Okla.; daughters, Marilyn (companion, Don Nargi) Evans of Muncy, Pa., Susan (spouse, Paul) LeMond of Jasper, Ind.; three grandchildren, three step grandchildren, four great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.

The funeral liturgy for Wanda M. Richardt will be celebrated at 10 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Troy, Indiana.

Friends may call for visitation and celebration of Wanda’s life at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2-8 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 16. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday evening, at the funeral home. Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared online at:
