Jack E. Cumbee

CLAREMORE — Service for Jack E. Cumbee was today at Claremore Assembly of God Church, burial followed at Woodlawn cemetery. Jack passed away on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013. He was 58.

Born April 17, 1955 in Eaton Rapids, Mich.; Jack was reared and educated in Belton, Mo. While in high school Jack began honing his skills as a machinist working in a local machine shop. Several years later, Jack moved to Oklahoma and took a job with Hilti Corp., in Tulsa. While living in Claremore Jack attended Claremore Assembly of God, and this is where he met his future bride. On June 26, 1982 he and Joelene Dixon were married and they made Claremore home. This union was blessed with a son. In May of 1991, Jack began working for American Airlines and was a faithful employee for 22 years before health challenges made it necessary to retire.

Jack enjoyed taking care of his yard; it always looked just like a park. He also kept his cars detailed in like new condition. He was an avid OU Sooner fan, cheering them on each season. Jack’s family was most important and he provided well for them.

A loving husband, father and friend, Jack will be missed by all who knew him. Those family members that survive include his wife Joelene of their home in Claremore and his son J.J. Cumbee of Columbia, Maryland. Jack was preceded in death by his parents.

Those who wish to make a memorial contribution in Jack’s memory may do so by contributing to Rose Rock Hospice, 2642 E. 21st Street, Tulsa, OK 74114.
