Michael “Mikey” Scott

FOYIL —

A  celebration of the life of Michael “Mikey” Scott will be 2 p.m., Monday, June 2, 2014 at Good Hope Church in Foyil.  
Burial will follow at Dawes Cemetery in Chelsea under the direction of Rice Funeral Service.  Friends may visit the funeral home on Sunday from 12-6.  
Mikey passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014.  He was 24.  
Born in Claremore, Okla. on March 27, 1990 to Bennie Maloney and Roxanna Scott, Mikey was reared and educated in Foyil where he graduated from Foyil High School in 2007. 
Mikey was employed at Bates Ranch where he handled all the daily operations for the ranch.  
He was a capable ranch hand; repairing and maintaining tractors and farm equipment, caring for animals and bailing hay were part of his everyday routine.     
Bull riding was a passion for Mikey.  
He began his bull riding career riding calves and mutton busting.  Mikey won state at the Junior Bull Riders Association and went on to become a senior bull rider, mentored by Justin McDaniel of the National Professional Bull Riders.  
Mikey passed on his love of bull riding to his cousin, Triston, he began teaching him the ropes of mutton busting.  
He was always willing to help others reach their goals.  Mikey loved spending time with children; his cousins and nieces and nephews often received the gift of his kindness and compassion.  
Mikey was an outgoing and fun-loving person.  
At one time he sang “She thinks my Tractor is Sexy” along with his friend Scottie at a Foyil talent show.  
He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and was the proud owner of a 1998 Honda CBR 600 Smokin’ Joe special edition.  
An avid outdoorsman, Mikey appreciated nature and loved to hunt and fish, Blue Creek being one of his favorite fishing destinations.  
He also enjoyed a hunting lease where he could go to hunt with friends and family.  An animal lover as well, Mikey cared for his beloved dogs Little Ike, BS, Riley, Patches and especially Tank, who was his best buddy.

    Funeral service for Doris Ann Chafin will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 18, at Verdigris Assembly of God with Brother Harold Brannon officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Elm Cemetery under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held Thursday 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Roy Rollins, Rob Rollins, Ron Rollins, Wayne Allen, Kelsey Wells, Angela Nowlin, Amber Holinsworth, and Maegan Gardner; and honorary pallbearer will be Rev. Joey Bentley. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 1-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.

    Mildred Warden was the mother of three and surrogate mother to hundreds.
    She operated one of Claremore’s first daycare for children. She died Friday, July 11, 2014 at the age of 86.

     Services celebrating the life of Johnny Lee Fivecoats will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Memorial Heights Baptist Church, Claremore.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1-8pm on Tuesday, July 15, with family receiving visitors from 6-8 p.m.
