CLAREMORE —

A celebration of the life of Marie Riley will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2013 in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service.  Visitation will be Friday from 1-7 p.m. with family receiving visitors from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Marie passed away on November 17, 2013.
She was 80.  
Born on April 29, 1933 in Claremore to Willie Allen and Lucille Hammond Johnson, Marie was the youngest daughter, the tenth of twelve children.  
She attended Lincoln School from the first grade through high school and graduated in May 1951.  
She earned her nursing license at Langston University and worked in hospitals in Claremore and Pryor as a licensed practical nurse.  
Marie was a faithful member of the New Life COGIC until it closed and was an active member of Glad Tiding Ministries in Tulsa. She loved her family, her community and baking.  Marie was a life resident of Claremore.
This loving mother, grandmother and friend will be missed by all who knew her.  Marie is survived by her children Gerome Riley Jr., Howard Riley and wife Marcia, Stephen Riley and Marlise Anderson and husband Marcus; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  Marie was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and five sisters.
