Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.  Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wed. Feb 13 from 1-7.  Iva passed away on Sun. Feb. 10, 2013.  She was 97.

Born Oct. 28, 1915 in Ft. Towson, Okla. to Lewis H. and Fronie E. (Hankins) Gable, Iva was reared and educated near her birth community.

The Gable family moved to the Mazie area when Iva was about 16.  She later married Henry Claude Phillips and together they made their home in Claremore and raised their 3 children.

Iva worked as a waitress for many years and she was a familiar face at several area restaurants, Roy's Café, Larsen's Cafeteria and Hammett House Restaurants, to name a few.  Although she worked outside of her home, she made her family her number 1 priority.

Following Henry's passing, Iva later married Willie P. Horner and they continued to make Claremore their home.  When Iva wasn't busy at work, she enjoyed visiting her family, fixing holiday meals and getting together for a game of pitch.

A kind and caring mom, Iva leaves behind a treasure of memories that will live on in the hearts of her family.
