Cara Diane Luther

CLAREMORE — A celebration of life service for Cara Diane Luther will be 2 p.m., Thursday June 26, 2014 in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-7 with family receiving friends from 5-7. Cara passed from this world into the loving arms of Christ at her home on June 21, 2014 at the age of 37.

One of five children gifted to George T. and Linda (Farris) Luther, Cara was born on Sept. 18, 1976 in Claremore, Okla.

Having deep roots in the Claremore community, she was raised here and graduated from Claremore High School in 1995.

After graduation, Cara attended cosmetology school and became an accomplished hairdresser working in several salons in the Claremore area.

Cara also had a passion for music, something she inherited from her parents and a gift God had given her. This gift enabled her to sing and to play the flute and saxophone effortlessly.

These talents she not only shared in her church, but also throughout her school years.

Referred to as a perfectionist by her sister, Cara also excelled in the kitchen.

She would spend countless hours preparing different dishes and recipes of the Pioneer Woman and the Food Network.

Her baklava, according to family, was always made picture perfect and was a hit at all the family gatherings.

Another role Cara played to perfection was the role of being an aunt.

Affectionately referred to as K.K. by nieces and nephews, Cara found a special place in each of their hearts as they did in hers.  Each of them loved the individual attention K.K. gave them.

Being with Cara was a treat each of them enjoyed.

This loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Cara is survived by her parents George and Linda Luther, brothers John Luther, Dan Luther and wife Julie, sisters Kathren Riley, Sarah Hughes and husband James, Fiancée John Hensley, nieces and nephews Matthew Cunningham, Josh Ebnit and wife, April, Racheal, Garrison and Trevor Luther, Seth, Zachary, Gabriel and Bentley Hughes, and Jericho Riley. She is preceded in death by her nephew Taylor C. Luther.
