Joel Wayne Taylor

CLAREMORE — Joel Wayne Taylor of Claremore passed away on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014. He was 56.

Joel was born on Jan. 2, 1958 in Claremore, Okla. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Claremore. He grew up in Muskogee and attended Muskogee High School. He worked at several different places throughout his life, some of them were Brockway Glass, Tubular Steel, Rogers State College, and Centralift. But the job he loved most was working on computers. He liked the challenge of fixing a computer when something went wrong. Joel loved fishing and being outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Joel was preceded in death by his father Gary Wayne Taylor, mother Norma Jean (Glover) Cox, grandparents Charles and Nancy Taylor, and Millard and Mae Glover. He is survived by his wife Robin Taylor, one son Matthew Thomas Crowley by a previous marriage, two stepdaughters Monica Estabrook and Tammie Gonzalez, six stepgranchildren Junior, Bianca, Logan, Yosel, Eden, and Martin, one brother Rev. James Taylor and wife Valarie, two nieces Faith Daniels and husband Gus and Jesse Taylor, stepfather Lue W. “Scotty” Cox, stepmother Rosemary Taylor, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Rice Funeral Service with Pastor Donnie Taylor officiating, burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are James Taylor, Rochelle White, Sam Cox, Tom Fink, Randall Walker, and Jessy Gonzalez.

The family has entrusted Rice Funeral Service with the arrangements.

    Jean Noreen Young was born in 1938 in Defiance County, Ohio.
    She is the daughter of Fred and Ida Cook Birchmeier. She spent her early life traveling, as her dad worked on the pipeline construction projects. She was in the 4th grade when her family bought a farm in Emporia, Kan.

    A celebration of the life of Kenneth Wayne DeLozier, Sr., will be 10 a.m., Wed., April 16, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Chelsea. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. Visitation will be Monday from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home.

    A mass of Christian burial for Marion “Buddy” Robertson, Sr. will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Father Paul Eichoff officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Rice Funeral Service.  Visitation will be Friday from 3-7 with a wake and prayer vigil at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service.   Family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the prayer service.
