Wayne Prather

Wayne Prather, 42 of Oologah, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa.

Garnet Wayne Prather was born on July 9, 1969, to Earl and Garnett Jean (Brown) Prather in Pryor.  Wayne graduated from Adair High School in 1987.  He then attended Triple A Welding School. Wayne loved the outdoors and enjoyed going hunting and fishing.  On Feb. 9, 1994, Wayne married Bridy Dooling in Miami, Okla.  They settled in Oologah and together they had two children, Ryan and Casey Prather.  Wayne loved his family, he enjoyed watching his children compete in sports and attending any activity they were involved in.

Wayne had a wonderful relationship with the lord and enjoyed attending the Oologah Assembly of God Church with his family.  He truly looked forward to going to work every day for 7 and half years; the owners of GSM and all the men who worked there were close friends and a second family to Wayne.  Wayne loved OU...Boomer Sooner.  He would never miss a game or the chance to razz an OSU fan.  Wayne was a loving husband, a wonderful father, and an all around darn good man and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Garnett Prather, one sister Robin Trout, and four brothers Vernon Prather, Phillip Prather, Leon Prather, and Timmy Williams.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife Bridy, his two children Ryan and Casey Prather, two brothers Stanley and his wife, Joann, Prather of Claremore, Todd and his wife, Shelley, Prather of Verdigris, one sister Julie Harr and her husband, Tony, Riddle of Claremore, his loving pets and companions Bo and Dude, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
