Mary Jo Maynard

CLAREMORE — Mary Jo Maynard, 56 of Catoosa, Okla., passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013.

She was born April 23, 1957 in Tulsa, Okla, the daughter of the Sherman and Maxine Leona (Lewis) Maynard. She graduated from Catoosa High School 1975 and from Bartlesville Weslyan, now Oklahoma Weslyan in 1979. Mary was a member of First Assembly of God in Catoosa where she served for many years as children’s church teacher, bus ministry captain and church organist. She taught school for 32 years, most of those were at South Park Christian School. Mary enjoyed working outside in her yard. She enjoyed reading and baking her delicious desserts and collecting miniature shoes.

She is survived by sisters, Brenda Maynard of Catoosa, Kay Franklin and husband, Mike of Pawhuska, Okla.; two nephews, Joel Franklin of Pawhuska, Joshua Franklin and wife, Hannah and children, Josiah, Timothy, Allison and Brianna of Coon Rapids, Minn; niece Rachael Lewis and husband, Sgt. Cody from Fort Gordon, Ga.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Freeman Harris Funeral Home, 3333 E. 41st St., Tulsa.

The Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 also at Freeman Harris Funeral Home. Interment will be at Dick Duck Cemetery in Catoosa, OK. Condolences may be left online at

    She is the daughter of Fred and Ida Cook Birchmeier. She spent her early life traveling, as her dad worked on the pipeline construction projects. She was in the 4th grade when her family bought a farm in Emporia, Kan.

    A celebration of the life of Kenneth Wayne DeLozier, Sr., will be 10 a.m., Wed., April 16, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Chelsea. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. Visitation will be Monday from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home.

    A mass of Christian burial for Marion “Buddy” Robertson, Sr. will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Father Paul Eichoff officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Rice Funeral Service.  Visitation will be Friday from 3-7 with a wake and prayer vigil at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service.   Family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the prayer service.
