CLAREMORE — Vera Belle Henson was born Oct. 9, 1930 and passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013, peacefully at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart ,Fla.

Vera was a lifelong racing fan from Oklahoma Outboard Boat Racing, Midgets, Outlaw Sprints and Nascar.  

In her early years, Vera was a talented bowler, organist, and painting artist. Her quick wit will be missed by all.

Her last words were “See you at the Big Track in the Sky”.

She is survived by her son, Joe Shaffer of Port Saint Lucie,  Fla., grandson, David Shaffer of Murphy, Texas, granddaughter, Brandi Shaffer Parks of Hillsboro, Texas, sister, Bennie Mae Fox of Arlington, Texas, five great-grandchildren, David Jr., Dustin, Madison, Logan and Rena.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Henson, brothers, Monte and James Hogue, parents, Bennett Hogue and Anne Mae Robinson.

Interment was at Memorial Park in Tulsa.
