Glenn Nanuck Moore

CLAREMORE — A celebration of the life of Glenn Nanuck Moore will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at Claremore Assembly of God Church.

Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery with military honors.

The son of William and Geraldine Moore, Glenn was born in Bellingham, Wash. but was raised and educated in the Tiawah area graduating from Inola High School in 1974.

After graduation he entered the U.S. Air Force and served for 12 years then continued to serve his country for 8 years in the 138th Fighter Wing of the Air National Guard.  Glenn also had a career with the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 31 years.

On Jan. 28, 1978 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Inola, Glenn married Deana Gatrell and they were gifted with 3 children.

Because of his career in the military Glenn was able to take his wife along with him and showed her many of the sites in the 50 states.

This man who had dimples from the top of his cheeks to the bottom was dedicated to any challenge he set, including 55,000 push-ups this last year.

Glenn found the most enjoyment relaxing with his family and spending time with his grandchildren who many said were the “apples of his eye.”

He also had a fascination with birds and planes and some thought this was because of his career in the Air Force.  Glenn was also an active member of the Church on the Move in Tulsa.

Referred to as a man who loved to joke, Glenn will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 35 years Deana; children January Nicole Woods and husband Michael, Garrett Nanuck Moore, Mitchell Drew Moore; three grandchildren, Jett, Kaylen and London Woods; brothers and sisters, Ellen McPheeters and husband Richard, Sandra Wolf, Nancy Moore, Lois Moore, Anita Ozbun and husband Mike, Bryan Moore, Pam White and husband Gary, Cyndi Ely and husband Steve; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerry Moore, sister JoAnne Troxell and Glenda Knight.

In lieu of flowers, condolences can be made in Glenn’s name to the Clarehouse located at 7617 S. Mingo, Tulsa, OK 74133.
