Marsha Ann Haley

Marsha Ann Haley was born Jan. 25, 1937 in Steubenville, Ohio to Warren and Lavinia Steele; she was reared and educated in her birth community. In 1960 Marsha married Hal Haley. Their union was blessed with four children.
The family moved to Canoga Park, Calif. and later to Simi Valley, Calif., finally making Oklahoma home when American Airlines transferred Hal to Tulsa.
Taking after her mother, Marsha was a talented artist and taught painting for many years.
She enjoyed collecting antiques and she adorned her home with them. Holiday gatherings were particularly special to Marsha and she loved decorating her home for the holidays, especially during the Christmas season. She collected Santas, snowmen and many holiday decorations, and always made her home festive and beautiful.
One of Marsha’s favorite traditions was having tea, which she also learned from her mother.
She was happy to host formal dinners, pulling out all the stops with formal place settings with China, donning dinner attire and preparing home-cooked meals for her dinner guests. She was a wonderful hostess and loved to share her home with family and friends.
Family was of the utmost importance to Marsha. She was a dedicated wife and mother, taking care of their every need and making their house a home.
She was also a very sweet and loving grandmother who treasured her title of “Mimi.”  Marsha’s love and compassion not only included her family, but her animal friends as well. As an animal lover, Marsha’s pet Pekingese dogs were her pride and joy. She referred to them as her children, cared for them well and loved them unconditionally.
This loving wife, mother and grandmother will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Marsha is survived by her husband of 53 years, Hal of the home; her children Steven Barnhart of California., Kimberly Smith of Tulsa, Chris Whitekiller and husband Willie of Claremore and Todd Haley of Owasso; grandchildren Grant Barnhart, Gregory Barnhart, Pamela Cregut, Jacob Ely, Tiffany Smith, Ryan Smith, Samantha Whitekiller and Benjamin Whitekiller; and sister Victoria Lundquist. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents and brother James Lundquist.  Marsha passed away on July 10, 2013.
She was 76 years old. Private family services are planned.
