Norman E. “Bubble” Kubala, 81 year old Woodward resident died Wednesday March 6, 2013 in Woodward.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 in St. Peters Catholic Church with the Reverend Scott Boeckman officiating. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. Peters Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Norman Elisha Kubala was born Oct. 15, 1931 in Beeville, Texas; the son of Elisha Stephen and Victoria (Valla) Kubala. He was reared in Anadarko and attended the St. Patrick’s Catholic Mission, graduating from high school in 1949 where he was salutatorian of his class. He served in the United States Army from 1952 until being honorable discharged in 1954. On May 29, 1955, Norman was married to Pauline Shipman in Anadarko. The couple made their home in Sand Springs. He was an iron worker, starting in 1955 until his retirement. He was also a dairy farmer.
Norman was a member of the St. Peters Catholic Church in Woodward. The biggest enjoyment in his life was his family.
Survivors include his wife Pauline of the home; four sons, Steve and Hope Kubala of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mike and Debbie Kubala of Oologah; James and Michelle Kubala of Owasso; Tom and Suzanne Kubala of Kingman, Texas; four daughters, Lee Ann and Mike Stone; Karen and Forrest Rogers, both of Woodward; Jeanne and Bob Heidlage of Claremore; Beverly and Rhon Fincher of Houston, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Mearl and Joye Kubala of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Leon and Rogene Kubala of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters, Lucille King of Willard, Utah; Neoma Kilway of Kalamazoo, Michigan; several other family members and freinds.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sahara Special Olympics with the funeral home accepting the donations.
