CLAREMORE — Services for Doris J. “Dee” Starr will be 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service. Dee passed away on Thurs., Sept. 26, 2013. She was 76.

Born Nov. 3, 1936 in Hartford Ark., to Earnest and Bertha Bernice (Cherry) Stocks, Dee moved to Tulsa with her family as a young child and was reared and educated there, graduating from Memorial High School.

A wonderful and loving mother, Dee was blessed with 5 children.

She took great care of them and made them her priority, but delighted most in time spent with her grandchildren.

Dee loved animals and had many loving pets throughout the years. She also enjoyed gardening and anything she planted, anywhere, would grow and thrive under her watchful eye. Dee was a wonderful caregiver to her mother and her late husband, Doug.

This beautiful mother, grandmother and friend will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Those cherished family members include her children Linda Ann Newton and husband Bob of Catoosa, Debra Bernice Wyatt of Owasso, Angelique Bowers and husband Ken of Big Cabin, Robert Wayne Highfill and wife Corey and Randy Bob Highfill and wife Amber all of Claremore; her grandchildren Mandy Hope, Christopher Wyatt, Jonathan Whitaker, Casey Highfill, Matthew Whitaker, Nicole Rose, Tiffany Burks, Victoria Burks, Bobby Newton, Taylor Highfill and Carson Highfill; great-grandchildren Makalea Hope and Kensley Burks. Dee was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Doug Starr.
