CLAREMORE — Clara Jo Sweet Fox was born July 18, 1927 in Talala, Oklahoma, to Joe and Clara (Shimp) Sweet. Jo passed this life to “eternal life” on November 19, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She had been struggling with health issues for a number of years. Jo asked Jesus into her life at a young age and was a member of The Little Light House Church in Ruidoso, New Mexico, where she had resided for many years. Jo lived in Bartlesville, Tulsa, Duncan and Okmulgee, Oklahoma and in Roswell, Alamogordo and Ruidoso, New Mexiso until moving recently to Claremore, Oklahoma to live with her neice, Tanya Wright.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Marie Beddingfield, Pat Booker and brother-in-law Larry Booker, brother-in-law Bob Paterson Sr. of Okmulgee and husband Dick Fox and dearest friend, J.W. “Red” Driver.
Survivors include, a sister, Lucy (Sweet) Paterson of Okmulgee; step-daughters Katherine Fox Ehler and Margaret Elchensen of Santa Fe; brother-in-law Burl Beddingfield of Tulsa; nieces, Tanya Wright and children, Anita (Billy) Rider and daughters of Seabrook, Texas; Regina (David) Mabry and children of Muskogee; nephews, Bob Paterson of Okmulgee, Bill (Louise) Paterson and children of Okmulgee; Rudy (Leah) Perego of Callahan, Florida and Jo Lambert of Tulsa. And numerous great nieces and nephews. The family greatly appreciates the loving care given to Jo by her great niece, Christina Adamson, during the past few weeks.
Jo had a host of dear friends in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico, who were like family to her, including Gladene Lagrone and family in Ruidoso, New Mexico and Jim and Pat Colgan and family in Tulsa. She loved everyone and enjoyed keeping in touch with those she had met over the years.
Services were November 26 at the First Baptist Church in Talala with internment following at the Talala Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of their choice. Condolences may be sent to Lucy Paterson, 1801 Crestview, Okmulgee, OK 74447.
