City leaders should look at traffic pattern changes over the last year along east highway 20 between Claremore and Pryor. If unscientific observations of morning and evening drives to and from the turnpike gate are any indication of volume, things are picking up along this thoroughfare.
Maybe it’s time for the City to revisit the concept of eastward development. Street logic suggests the northeastern reaches of the state provide a ready market for drawing retail growth to this area — maybe even from as far away as Arkansas, southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri. With Gatorade and Google next door, it seems shortsighted to ignore the possibilities and the potential.
