Dear friends of Rogers County school children:

With your help and that of others in the community we had, for the 19th year, a successful program to provide school supplies to disadvantaged public school students throughout the county.

With the help of generous retailers and some wholesalers we were able to keep the average cost at $15.52 per child, we helped 3,110 students begin the school year with the required supplies at a total cost of $48,281.57.

Your contributions helped the following number of students in Rogers County: Catoosa, 222; Chelsea, 325; Claremore, 1410; Foyil, 284; Inola, 95; Justus-Tiawah, 106; Oologah, 247; Sequoyah, 320; Verdigris, 102.

As of Sept. 14, donations totaled $49,969. The contributions came from Claremore First United Methodist Church members, other area churches, businesses, civic organizations and individuals. Any funds not used this year stay in the account to be used for school supplies next year.

On behalf of all the students who received supplies, THANK YOU for your generous support.
