Faught denies dropping Congressional bid

CLAREMORE — Rumors that a District 2 Congressional candidate is withdrawing from the race to seek a state senate seat are apparently untrue.

State Rep. George Faught (R- District 14) categorically denied the rumor that he was leaving the race to succeed Congressman Dan Boren.

"I heard the strange rumor today. It is totally untrue," Faught said.

"We're not just in it, but we're in it to win it," he said. "We are making great strides."

Faught is among six candidates vying for the Republican nomination. The others include Markwayne Mullin, Dustin Rowe, Dwayne Thompson, Dakota Wood and Wayne Pettigrew.
