Claremore Nazarene Church to host Guy Penrod, Isaacs

CLAREMORE — Claremore Nazarene Church will be hosting artists Guy Penrod and the Isaacs later this month for a weekend of gospel music.

Guy Penrod will perform at 7 p.m. on  Aug. 30, with doors to open at 6 p.m. The Isaacs will perform at 6 p.m.  on Sept. 1. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Both concerts are free, but a love offering will be taken.

Guy Penrod was a member of the Gaither Vocal Band for 14 years as well as a studio singer backing up voices such as Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Shania Twain and presently doing solo concerts.

He is finishing up a tour of concerts in Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands.

Tne Isaacs, a multi-award winning family group who began singing 35 years ago are based out of Hendersonville, Tenn.  

The vocalists are mother Lily Isaacs, and siblings Ben Isaacs, Sonya Isaacs Yeary and Rebecca Isaacs Bowman. They perform frequently at the Grand Ole Opry, are active members on the Gaither Homecoming videos and concert series, and travel internationally throughout the year to perform. Additionally, Claremore Nazarene will host an Indian Taco Fundraiser from 3-5:30 p.m. Sunday.

    First Presbyterian Church Claremore will host a Silent Auction from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 19.
    All items remaining in the two houses on 5th Street —105 and 109 E. 5th Street — will be auctioned off, among them, light fixtures, doors, cabinets, shelving, flooring, and more.
