Barron, Lockhart win school board races in Oologah, Chelsea

CLAREMORE — Oologah-Talala Schools welcome Zach Barron to their school board after Tuesday’s election, while Chelsea re-affirms John Lockhart .

Barron will be filling the open seat on the Oologah board, winning with 75 percent of the vote.
His challenger, Deborah Wallis,  received 25 percent with 120 votes.
Only 489 voters took to the polls Tuesday for the Oologah school board election.
Even fewer ballots were cast in Chelsea with 94 total voters.
Lockhart received 54 percent or 51 votes and Julayne Stinnett received 46 percent or 43 votes.
Both school board members will required to meet certain educational requirements to fulfill their positions.
The next scheduled election for Rogers County will be the March 5 special election.
Municipal elections are scheduled for April 2.
Currently, the Rogers County commissioners have not scheduled the election for the upcoming One-Cent Sales Tax renewal.
