Hrdlicka named Mr. Claremore

CLAREMORE —

Claremore High School senior Nick Hrdlicka walked away winner of the annual Mr. Claremore pageant Wednesday at the Frank Mobra Fieldhouse. 
Hrdlicka won over the hearts of the audience as his magic show (gone wrong), turned into a creative opportunity for him to ask his friend Sarah Szcinski to prom.
A blank sheet that Hrdlicka “magically” turned into a blanket that read, “Sarah, Prom?” was pulled out of a  box during the show. Hrdlicka presented flowers to Szcinski before she said yes.
Nick is the son of Kyle and Charlotte Hrdlicka. He plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in pre-med. Hrdlicka runs cross country and plays soccer, and is a member of National Honor Society, FUZE and First United Methodist Church. 
The Mr. Claremore competition 12 participants who were judged on introductions/formal attire and talent. 
CHS senior Gage Meisinger earned second place with his “Evolution of Dance” performance. Senior Bryce Howe placed third for his comedic weightlifting routine.
First place winner received $100, secon place received $50 and third place, $25. A special award of $25 was given to “Mr. Congeniality” Brinley Brown, who was named “crowd pleaser” for his singing performance.
