Catalayah students raise more than $6,500 for Jump Rope for Heart

CLAREMORE —

Catalayah Elementary recently raised a total of $6,555 during the school’s third annual Jump Rope for Heart event.
Students more than doubled last year’s goal, said Physical Education and Health Teacher Jeannie Seidel. Out of 400 students, 118 participated, with 10 raising at least $200 each. Reagan Jauquet earned the top spot, raising a total of $1,260.
Jump Rope for Heart is a community service-learning program of the American Heart Association. Children learn about the importance of developing heart-healthy habits, emphasizing that being physically active is fun.
Participants raise funds to support research and education to help save lives in communites across the country. For more information on the Jump Rope for Heart program, visit heart.org.
