Claremore residents receive OBU awards

SHAWNEE —

Claremore natives Davey Billings and Timothy Livingston, juniors at Oklahoma Baptist University, received scholarships from the school’s Herschel H. Hobbs College of Theology and Ministry.
Awards were given on May 6 during a ceremony at OBU.
Billings, a biblical studies student, received the Rowena Strickland Scholarship and Livingston, a religious education student, received the Hough Memorial Scholarship. 
Both scholarships will be applied toward any tuition.
The mission of the Herschel H. Hobbs College of Theology and Ministry is to promote the intellectual and spiritual development of OBU students. Within the context of OBU’s liberal arts curriculum, students are enlightened through the classical disciplines of religion and philosophy as well as the applied disciplines of Christian ministry.
