Students and teachers at Mustard Seed Christian Preschool began their week-long celebration of excellence in education Monday for National School Choice Week (NCSW).
For one week every January, in association with NCSW, schools, organizations and groups of individuals independently plan special events and activities for students across the country.
“National School Choice Week allows schools to share an enriched learning environment with each other, promoting a higher standard in education,” said Mustard Seed Director Tallery Raglin.
The celebration will consist of a spirit day, pajama day, mismatch day and hat day. On Friday, children will write thank you letters to their parents to show their appreciation for allowing them to attend Mustard Seed, she said.
Raglin said teachers and parents can get online to see all of the events that schools and organizations are posting nationally. Conference calls are available to issue ideas to administrators and teachers for use in the classroom.
NCSW can also be used as an opportunity for parents to search for new or different schools for their children.
