Chelsea HS Academic Team earns second consecutive state title

CHELSEA —

Chelsea High School made school history after winning the Class 3A OSSAA Academic Bowl state championship Feb. 15 at Redlands Community College in El Reno.
The team qualified for state after sweeping teams in districts, regionals and area tournaments.
Chelsea defeated Caney Valley twice in the final round to take the title.
The team will be studying hard in preparation for the small school national tournament set for May 2 in Minneapolis, Minn. Students are in the process of raising money to purchase state rings and for the trip.
“We are proud to represent the Chelsea Green Dragons at nationals,” said coach Debbie Hoskins. “Any help with this exciting journey is truly appreciated.”
