CHS hosts 9-11 remembrance ceremony

CLAREMORE —

Students, teachers, law enforcement officers, city officials and community members gathered for a 9/11 remembrance ceremony Wednesday morning at Claremore High School’s Lantow Field.
Claremore NJROTC color guard unit presented and raised the flag for the national anthem before student Josh Ripley led attendees in a symbolic two-bell ceremony.  The toll of the two bells reminds citizens of the reverence owed to the departed. During this time, a moment of silence was given in remembrance of the lives lost. As a tribute, “Taps” was performed followed by “America the Beautiful,” sung by the CHS choir.
