CHS Band to perform at Spring concert

CLAREMORE —

The Claremore High School Marching Band will perform following a coronation ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Robson PAC.
It has been a busy semester for CHS band students, after winning state in Winter Guard with a superior rating in sight reading. Students walked home with a total of 19 superior medals from state solo and ensemble.
“CHS Band has developed a reputation for excellence,” said Band Booster Membership Coordinator Debbie Gunkel. “When our jazz band played at state, the room was full of people who came to listen to us.”
She said college band directors are pleased to have Claremore students audition for band scholarships. Seven CHS students received music scholarships NSU, OU, UCO, SWOSU and OBU.
