Catoosa, crowning three champions, won its second straight Class 4A high school wrestling state championship over the weekend in Oklahoma City, and can look toward a third.

The Indians of coach Darren Peaster had 11 state qualifiers — and 10 placed. Nine of those 11 qualifiers return next season.

They won the title this time around by 60 points over runnerup El Reno.

Individuals winning championships were Dallas Bailey at 171 pounds, Ryan Rosales at 130 and Shawn Thomas at 145.

Bailey, a junior, won his third consecutive state championship. Rosales lost in the 119-pound finals a year ago.

Catoosa amassed 151.50 points as a team, outdistancing El Reno, 91.50.

Catoosa also won the dual state meet earlier this month.

Oologah crowned two individual state champions as the Mustangs placed sixth in Class 3A.

Junior Trevor Holly won his second gold medal at 112 pounds, and teammate Derrick Adkins wrapped up an undefeated season by winning the 171-pound title. Adkins finished his senior year with a 42-0 record.

Grove won the 3A team title, with 90 points. Oologah finished sixth, and Inola was 15th.

In Class 5A, Claremore had two wrestlers come home with third-place medals.

Freshman Michael Williams at 112 and junior Ryan Garrett at 171 earned decisions in the consolation finals to wrap up third-place finishes.

Midwest City eked out the most narrow of victories in Class 5A, winning its second straight team title by a half-point over Ponca City.
