David Moss of Chelsea had two second-place finishes and one third Monday night in the All-State swimming meet at Tulsa Union’s Aquatics Center.

Swimming for the East, Moss was part of the winning team which defeated the West, 54-39.

In the 100-meter freestyle, Moss placed third. Dan DeGeus of Edmond Memorial was first with a time of 1:00.15. Moss was clocked at 1:02.46.

DeGeus also took the 100 breastroke, nipping Moss. DeGeus was timed at 1:10.95, and Moss was second in 1:12.56.

Moss was part of the second-place 400 freestyle relay team. The East finished in the top two spots. The winning time was 4:07.75. Moss and his mates were timed at 4:17.14.

DeGeus was named the recipient of the Jim Thorpe Award as the state’s top male swimmer. Krissy Harms, also of Edmond Memorial, received the female award.
