Claremore’s Tiffany Teehee will be competing Friday night in her speciality — barrel racing — when the Ford Pro Rodeo Series Finals opens a two-day run at Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs east of Claremore.

Teehee, a senior at Claremore High School, recently competed in the National High School Finals Rodeo in Springfield, Ill. The nationally ranked teen-ager leads the Ford tour point standings in barrell racing.

She competes in the Oklahoma High School Rodeo Association in barrels, poles, breakaway roping, goat tying and team roping. She’s also a member of the IPRA and the ACRA.

The two-session rodeo, featuring bull riding, bareback riding and steer wrestling, among other events, begins at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and tickets are $12 for general admission and $18 for the Turf Club. Children under 12, accompanied by an adult, are admitted free.
