BARTLESVILLE — The Claremore track and field team showed up the 5A competition as well as most of the 6A teams at the Bartlesville Bruin Track and Field Classic Friday.

The Claremore girls finished less than two points out of first place behind Bartlesville, and the boys finished a solid second place as well.

On the girls side, the 400 relay team finished first in 51.66, as did the 800 relay in 1:51.26. The 3200 and 1600 relay teams each finished third.

Individually, Katelyn Alexander was runner-up in the 800 meters in 2:26.29; Laynie Nichols was also runner-up in the 1600 meters in 5:29.55; Anna Perry placed third in the 200 meters with a time of 27.78; Jazymne Hoke finished fourth in the 300 hurdles in 52.09; Gloria Butts was fifth in the 3200 meters in 13:05.40; Jamie Burden (4-10) and Hoke (4-8) finished fourth and fifth place, respectively, in the high jump; and Kacey Holt was second in the shot put with a distance of 35-8.5.

For the boys, the 800 relay team was second in 1:33.45; the 3200 relay finished third in 8:42.90; and the 1600 relay was third in 3:34.66.

Jack Vincent paced the boys with a first place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.03, along with Reid Willhoite’s top pole vault height of 13 feet; Dylan Kedzior was runner-up in the 400 meters in 51.86; Quentin Skinner finished third in the high jump with a clearance of 6 feet; Colbie Smith, Ethan Shires and Brock Rivet finished fourth, fifth and sixth place, respectively, in the 110 hurdles; Andrew Vanaman was fourth in the 3200 meters in 10:31.68, and fourth in the 1600 meters in 4:55.97; Shires and Willhoite finished third and fourth in the 300 hurdles; and Coby Williams finished fifth in the shot put with a distance of 44-4.

Girls Top 5: Bartlesville 118, Claremore 116.3, Lincoln Christian 115, Bixby 104, Stillwater 86.

Boys Top 5: Bartlesville 130, Claremore 113, Sapulpa 87, Stillwater 77, Grove 76.
