CLAREMORE — Coweta started out fast and didn’t let up Thursday night as the Lady Tigers handed Claremore a 3-1 home-opening volleyball loss.

Coweta got up early and rolled to a 25-18 first-set win.

Claremore came right back with a 25-22 win in the second set, but the Lady Tigers finished off the home team 25-23 in the third and fourth sets.

Brooke Jones, Maddie Hardage and Madison Dugan combined for 26 kills.

Riley Renfroe and Briley Penny combined for 30 assists.

Dani Meisinger had five service aces and 17 digs, and Hardage and sister Lauren, combined for seven blocks.

The Lady Zebras are 0-2 after losing their season opener Tuesday night at Sapulpa. They will now host rival Collinsville at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15.

In other area games, it was Oologah over Tulsa Memorial 3-1 and Rejoice Christian downing Claremore Sequoyah 3-0.
