Foyil held off Kansas in the final seconds Friday night and defeated the Comets, 33-32, in a high school basketball game on the Comets’ floor.

Taylor Antle scored with 20 seconds remaining to give the Panthers a 33-32 lead.

Kansas worked for a shot against the determined Foyil defense, and settled for an off-balance attempt. Jason Kersey rebounded for Foyil, giving the Panthers their eighth win against four losses.

“We played pretty good defense toward the end,” Foyil coach Jason Ward said. “They never did get a very good look.”

Eric Murray led the Panthers with 14 points. Kersey finished with 10 rebounds.

In the boys semifinals of the Pryor Invitational, Adair continued along its unbeaten ways with a 67-57 victory over Oologah.

Adair moved into the finals, taking on Pryor. Oologah played for third place, going against Collinsville.

Claremore Sequoyah won the consolation bracket at Pryor, defeating Haskell, 60-51, Friday night.

Blake Breshears scored 20 points and Nick Miller and Levy Adcock contributed with double figures as Sequoyah pulled away from the Haymakers.

In the boys semifinals at Caney Valley, Nowata handled Chelsea, 70-46, to move into the finals against Copan. Chelsea and Liberty played Saturday for third place.
