We've seen this before. The winner of the regular season matchup with No. 1 Wagoner and No. 3 Oologah will likely win the district. The loser will likely get second and will be favorites to meet for the fourth time in the Class 4A state championship game.

Wagoner and Oologah are each 3-0. Wagoner is coming off its 43rd straight win, which sets the state record for most consecutive wins by an 11-man school. The last time the Bulldogs lost was Oct. 3, 2014 against Cascia Hall.

Though Wagoner and Oologah are the cream of the crop in the state as well as District 4A-3, another team is threatening to enter the conversation.

Surprising Catoosa, who pushed Oologah to the limits a few weeks ago, is tied with Cascia Hall for third in 4A-3, each with 2-1 records. Vinita and McLain are each 1-2 and Grove and Miami share the basement. apartment.

Sequoyah on the bubble

Claremore Sequoyah's loss to Sperry last week drops them to fourth place in the district. Sperry and Mannford are each 3-0 and third-ranked and unbeaten Berryhill sits in third place. The Eagles are 1-1 with a big game at Mannford this Friday, which could be their most important game of the season. The Eagles are on the playoff bubble.

Verdigris is 0-3 and tied with Tulsa Webster for the bottom of the district standings.

Foyil climbs A-7

Erased are the days of losing streaks lasting for years. If the playoffs were to happen this week, the Foyil Panthers would be in. The Panthers are 2-1 in districts and an even 3-3 for the season. Already with wins over Fairland and Quapaw in the last two weeks, the Panthers only need a win over Barnsdall in a few weeks to likely secure a playoff date. Foyil plays a non-district game at Woodland this week. The district's big boys meet this week — unbeaten Afton at unbeaten Rejoice Christian.

District A-7

Afton 2-0 5-0 30
