Claremore High School volleyball coach Victoria Giron has now conducted her first official practice as the Lady Zebras’ new leader. And on Aug. 8, she will lead her team across Tulsa to Sapulpa for the season opener.

Giron, who takes over for David Blakemore, who spent two years leading the Lady Zebras, will have just seven home dates for the 2017 season.

After the first game at Sapulpa, the Lady Zebras will host Coweta on Aug. 10 and Collinsville on Aug. 15.

The Lady Zebras won’t play at home again until they host East Central on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Other home dates are Sept. 19 vs. Claremore Sequoyah, Sept. 21 vs. Glenpool, Sept. 28 vs. Sand Springs and Oct. 3 vs. Tulsa Edison.

In the last two seasons, the Lady Zebras finished 9-30 in 2015 and 15-26 in 2016.
