WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Rogers State men's golf team finished ninth out of 15 teams at the Midwestern State Invitational on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 17) at the Wichita Falls Country Club. RSU shot rounds of 295, 287 and 301 to total a score of 883.

RSU freshmen Luke Palmowski and Aidan Gavey tied for the team lead in 17th place on the par-71, 6,882-yard course with a 54-hole total score of 5-over-par 218. Palmowski ended with a 2-over-par 73 in today's final round.

The freshman from Rotherham, England started yesterday with rounds of 2-over-par 73 and 1-over-par 72 to go with today's third round. For the tournament, he totaled 41 pars to rank third in the field.

Gavey concluded with a 6-over-par 77 in today's round. Heading into the final round, the Caledonia, Ontario product sat in third place with day one scores of 1-under-par 70 and even-par 71. Gavey was the best in the field on par fives as he went 5-under-par on those holes. The freshman ranked second in the field in birdies with 13 in the 54-hole tournament.

Senior Alex Marsh finished in the third spot in the Hillcat lineup with a third round score of 2-over-par 73. After opening with a 9-over-par 80, the Southampton, England product improved to card an even-par 71 in yesterday's second round. Marsh's three-round total of 11-over-par 224 put him in 40th place.

Junior Patrick Bart finished with a score of 7-over-par 78 in today's final round. With his first and second round totals of 3-over-par 74 and 2-over-par 73, Bart registered a score of 12-over-par 225.

Freshman Richard Cheetham posted a score of 11-over-par 82 in the final round. He shot two scores of 7-over-par 78 in yesterday's rounds for a score of 236.

Playing as an individual, Gonzalo Chaves put together a round of 3-over-par 74 today. To start yesterday, Chaves carded a score of 6-over-par 77 and then posted a score of 13-over-par 84. The freshman tallied a total score of 235.

Host Midwestern State took the team title with a 54-hole score of 854 to win by seven shots over Texas A&M – Commerce. Trip Hobson of MSU won the individual title at 4-under-par 209.

The Hillcats end the fall season at The Territory Classic next Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 23-24) in Duncan, Okla. at the Territory Golf Club.
