CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Rogers State women's basketball team led by as many as 12 points in the first half, but faded late in a 74-65 loss to Southwest Baptist on Saturday (Dec. 2) at the Claremore Expo Center.

The Hillcats (3-5) started the game with an 11-2 run in the first five minutes of the game to hold control early. Darian Jackson put the navy and red up 11-2 with 5:24 left in the period on a jumper.

Nikola Nedoroscikova upped the edge to 16-6 with a 3-pointer she banked in with 2:05 remaining in the first period. RSU had a 18-10 lead after one quarter.

RSU's defense held the Bearcats to 0-for-10 shooting from the field to start the game. SBU made its first basket with 2:26 left in the first period.

Early in the second period, Nedoroscikova hit two free throws at the 9:07 mark for RSU's largest lead of the game at 22-10.

In the final minutes before halftime, the visiting Bearcats used a spurt to pull to within one at 31-30 at the break.

SBU's Morgan Henderson started the second half with a 3-pointer to give the Bearcats their first lead of the game at 33-31. SBU never looked back, keeping the advantage for the rest of the contest.

In the final period, the Bearcats pushed the margin to as high as 12 points on their way to the 74-65 win.

RSU shot 50 percent from the field, a season high, going 26-of-52.

The Bearcats finished shooting 35.7 percent (20-56) from the field, but outscored the Cats by 19 points at the free throw line as SBU went 28-of-33 from the line for 84.8 percent. RSU tallied 18 free throw attempts and hit nine for 50 percent.

Lauren Schuldt tied her career-high with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting. She nearly totaled a double-double with a team-high nine rebounds. Jackson was one point off her career high with 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting. She registered five rebounds. Nedoroscikova hit double figures with 10 points and added four assists.

SBU's Megan Rosenbohm posted 22 points, and Henderson went for 18 points.
