The Green Country All-Star Weekend came to end Monday as the Gold Stars cruised to a 6-1 baseball victory over the Blue Stars at Claremore's Legion Field.

A total of 28 graduating seniors from 13 Northeastern Oklahoma schools were divided in half for the fourth annual baseball game. Reveille Rotary Club and Volunteers for Youth split the proceeds from Monday's event.

Close to 300 fans were present to enjoy the sunny skies and the action on the diamond.

Seven Gold pitchers combined to hold the Blue hitters to a lone fourth-inning run. At the same time, the Gold offense was able to push single runs home in the first, third, fifth and seventh innings before wrapping it up with a pair of runs in the eighth.

The Gold held only an 8-7 base hit margin, but their hits came with runners in scoring positions. Three doubles and two triples aided the effort.

Rance Chalakee of Pryor led the slugging with a pair of doubles. His first came in the third. He scored with two outs as Sequoyah's Brant Hall singled. This proved to be the winning run.

A triple by Claremore's Greg Harmon and Chalakee's second double gave the Gold the sixth-inning run. In the seventh, Garrett Steinbrook, Claremore, tripled to score Oologah's Tyler Harold, who had singled.

The finishing touch was delivered Oologah's Jeff Bradshaw’s two-run single in the eighth. Claremore's Steffon Williams started the inning with a double and Cody Kieffer, Sperry, walked to put runners at second and first.

The Blue’s run was the result of back-to-back doubles by Claremore's Zane Williams and Pryor's David Henning.

Eleven Blue runners were left on the bases.

Both teams used a 14-player batting order. No one batted more than three times.

Getting two hits each were Zane Williams and Verdigris' A.J. Roller for the Blue and Chalakee for the Gold.
